SLOW MOTORCADE LYRICS WITH SONG SUMMARIES BY ANTHONY CASTILLO

UNION OF ONE

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Castle Noir Music BMI ©

Verse One:

Rank and file working class, raise your banners high,

A blow to one is a blow to us all, world wide,

Only when we organize, will we stem this tide,

Only through our strength in numbers, will we realize,

Chorus:

We are a union of one, we are a union of one,

We are a union of one, we are a union of one,

Verse Two:

Ruling class divisive tactics, they keep us apart,

We out number all of them, it's time we all got smart,

Class interests need our labor, power's in our hands,

Workers take your rightful places, militant we stand,

Repeat Chorus:

Verse Three:

A united global union, of all humanity,

Standing up to exploitation, in solidarity,

Ever forward on our feet, never on our knees,

No more concessions given, into corporate greed,

Repeat Chorus:

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

A global rallying call to the workers of the world to come together, to organize, fright corporate power and work together
in a united movement to raise wages and improve working conditions world wide.

HAVE AND HAVE NOT

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Castle Noir Music BMI ©

Shopping cart captains battle, for bottles and cans,

While captains of industry profit, from Wall Street scams,

Pre Chorus:

Just part of the modern landscape, they hold out their hands,

Society's tired and weary, we've done all we can, oh ya,

Chorus:

Take a hold of my hand, they let you down,

Take a hold of our hands, won't let you down,

Verse Two:

Card board hotels on concrete, rooms with a view,

Watch the economy growin, step right over you,

Pre Chorus Two:

Just part of the modern campaign, they pander for votes,

Society's tired and weary, we're generous folks, oh ya,

Repeat Chorus:

Bridge:

There are those who have, and those who have not,

When all is said and done, it matters not at all!

Pre Chorus:

Just part of the modern landscape, they hold out their hands,

Society's tired and weary, we've done all we can, oh ya,

Repeat Chorus:

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

A song dealing with the sad reality of "compassion fatigue" in coping with the growing population of
"homeless" persons in all major US cities. Regrettably this condition/mind set is growing as fast as the "homeless" population itself.

HELPLESS MYSTERY

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Castle Noir Music BMI ©

Time passes leaving it's mark upon you, inside and out,

Thoughts drifting memories may inspire you, let's do it again,

Past places, faces that never leave, they live inside of you,

Lovers or friends, touch deep inside of you,

Chorus:

Where are they now, people we used to know?

Helpless to see, manage the mystery,

Love is a key, just open your mind, open your heart and see,

Verse Two:

Lives pass through weaving their trace upon you, welcome come in,

Past places, faces that never leave, alive inside of you,

Chorus:

All that we've been, all that we've come to know,

Helpless to see, manage the mystery,

Love is a key, just open your mind, open your heart...

Bridge:

Live is mystery, just open your self,

we're part of something more, so much more,

Chorus:

Where are they now, people we use to know?

Helpless to see, manage the mystery,

Love is a key, just open your mind, open your heart,

All that we've been, all that we've come to know,

Helpless to see, manage the mystery,

Love is a key, just open your mind, open your heart,

Open your mind, open your heart and see,

Vamp out on chorus/verse:

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

This song is nothing more than a musical post card to all the people I've loved, been friends with and have
regrettably lost contact with over the years. Bitter sweet memories indeed, we all have them.

MISSING IN ACTION

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Castle Noir Music BMI ©

Verse One:

Imagine what she felt when she saw the sights,

Yet she still stood out in that crowded Sunset rock'n'roll night,

New in town, ya but not like the others,

Her attitude complete, her image ready for pinup covers,

Chorus:

But where is she now, she's missing in action,

Rock'n'Roll can take it's toll, (can take your soul),

Verse Two:

He was part of the crowd on that fateful first night,

Yet some time would pass before they'd hold each other in bar fly light,

She may have cared, but for her it was to late,

Her career came first, for war brides everything has to wait,

Repeat Chorus Twice:

Bridge:

Neon angels have to fly high,

the sisters Currie made her try, (you know why),

Like Bettie Page did in early times, she's vanished disappeared but why?

Repeat Chorus Twice:

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

Randee Robbins, where are you? This one's for you! The true story of my "relationship" with (short lived as it was)
and the subsequent abrupt disappearance of Ms. Robbins. Told in the third person so as to add a touch of the dramatic.
Oh well, I guess she was just to good to be true. But what better way to remember her than with a healthy dose of
Hoople meets Queen power chords and melody.

MARTIAL LAW

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Castle Noir Music BMI ©

Verse One:

That night I was laying in bed, the day's demonstrations runnin though my head,

People marchin up and down the streets, demands for justice turnin up the heat,

Common folk taken up the fight, talk was heard about a general strike,

The next day it really hit the fan, screams were heard from all across the land,

Chorus: Look out, stay clear, won't be a revolution here,

Look out, back down, this time they called for martial law,

Verse Two:

Friends called before the phones went down, sayin it's time we went under ground,

Military marchin up and down the streets, mass arrests clamp down free speech,

Pentagon saying the're in charge, not to panic, just stay calm,

Propaganda always made it clear, they always said it can't happen here,

Chorus:

Look out, stay clear, won't be a revolution here,

Look out, back down, fascist shootin up the towns,

Look out, keep clear, they plan to rule by fear,

No rights, beware, this time they called for martial law,

Bridge:

It's called a military cue, unlike an old solder,

The national security state and prison industrial complex refuses to fade away,

Like a power junkie, in need of a fix of blood and money,

But who's blood and who's money, WHO'S MONEY!

Chorus:

Wake up, it's clear, gotta be a revolution here,

Rise up, it's clear, gotta be a revolution here,

Wake up, it's clear, gotta be a revolution here,

Rise up, it's clear, gotta be a revolution here.

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

Inspired by the 1992 LA uprising, this tune puts forth a dark "what if" scenario. One of the first Slow Motorcade songs
Francois and I wrote, I had know idea how ahead of the curve I would be with this fictional vision. Let's see, Bush steals
White House, Sept. 11th goes down, US Patriot Act signed in to law, military budget goes back to Cold War levels, dissenting
speech/protests labeled as being "un-American", people detain without due process. Is it just me, or do you feel a little paranoid too?

JUGGERNAUT

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Caste Noir Music BMI ©

Verse One:

A constant struggles in the world today,

There's a consequence to all we do or say,

The corporate system wants to own it all,

For short term profit life supports are sold away,

Pre Chorus:

The global economy, neo-liberal murder,

Chorus:

What is the real cost, all our lives,

What is the real loss, juggernaut,

What is the real worth, all our lives,

What is the real price?

Verse Two:

A man made system is the plan today,

Ignore what nature's done she only gets in the way,

The message sold is that it needs to grow,

Behold the juggernaut, full tilt, no controls,

Pre Chorus:

Because of the GNP, laiss'ez-faire means murder,

Repeat Chorus:

Bridge:

Five hundred years ago it all began,

Or was it just the beginning of the end,

What was said to be so civilized,

Brought with it untold evils and genocide,

Repeat Chorus:

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

My call to arms to one and all to fight the globalization of capital and corporate control.
I actually wrote this song two years or more before the Battle in Seattle happened, and
before Naomi Klein published her ground breaking book No Logo. Bottom line, Globalize
human rights and environmental protection, not commerce and financial interests.

BEST YOU'VE EVER HAD

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Castle Noir Music BMI ©

Verse One:

It was hard to ignore your advance, so I took a chance on such a pretty face,

If I knew then what I know now, I would have turned around, thanks but no thanks,

I ignored all the warning signs, let them all pass by, she said "you have beautiful eyes,"

It wasn't long till the passion took hold, it was in control, she said...

"You're the best I've ever had"

Chorus:

The best you've ever had, is doing so much better without you,

The best you've ever had, he's so dam thankful that he's without you,

The best you've ever had, is doing fine, (so fine),

Verse Two:

The honey moon didn't last to long, though our feelings were strong,

The battles wore me down,

Insane thoughts from inside your head, not a moments rest did you grant the accused,

You put the blame on astrology, your car crash or me, never your insanity,

Now it's over and I've broken free, still I hear you tell me...

"You're the best I've ever had"

Chorus:

The best you've ever had, is doing so much better without you,

The best you've ever had, he's so dam thankful that he's without you'

The best you've ever had, is oh so lucky to be without you,

The best you've ever had, is doing fine,

Bridge: I've learned my lesson well, your invitation to hell,

It's said we live and learn, so when's it going to be your turn?

Repeat First Chorus Twice:

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

The story of the worst, most dysfunctional relationship I have ever been in in my life.
I'll be kind and leave out her name. I'm sure she'll never see this anyway. But if she does, she'll know who I wrote this one about.

LIFE IN A MOMENT

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Castle Noir Music BMI ©

Verse One:

Life seems so hard, pressures build up on you,

How much can we all go through,

It's really simple, if you know just what to do,

It's true, open up, it's all inside you,

Chorus:

When I hold you, then I feel life in a moment,

Believe like I do, then you'll feel life in a moment too,

Verse Two:

Life can pass by, if you miss all the clues,

Know what's important to you,

People, nature, standing up for the truth,

Renew, you can, empower yourself too,

Chorus:

When I hold you, then I feel life in a moment,

Believe like I do, then you'll feel life in a moment,

When I know you, then we'll feel life in a moment too,

Bridge:

You're why, I'm feeling so alive,

My only hope for you, is that you feel it too,

That you feel it too, can you feel it too, can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it...

Repeat Second Chorus:

Vamp out on bridge:

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

It may sound like a love song written for or about a person, but it's not really about that.
It may have started out that way, but as I got into it it changed into a song about ideas or
beliefs, not about a feeling of love for any one person. I guess it's the same sort of ideal that
Bogart talks about in that great final speech he gives to Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca.
Now I bet you would have never figured that one out if I hadn't of clued you in?

DARK ANGEL

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Castle Noir Music BMI ©

Verse One:

I stare at pictures of you, the ones that show me so much, of what I want to know,

You stare right back at me, something in your eyes won't let me go,

Pre Chorus:

Oh my unrequited love, oh I need your nurses touch,

Until we meet again, I'll dream,

Chorus:

I'm in the arms of Dark Angel tonight,

She's got the power, the love and the light,

I'm in the arms of Dark Angel tonight,

She's a super hero girl, (In an all to common world), (I'm just a comic book boy),

Verse Two:

With all your signatures, you leave a mark on me that won't go away,

An arrow's through my heart, is it real or just on the printed page,

Pre Chorus:

Oh but Flaxen fly's away, oh but did I hear her say,

Until we meet again, just dream,

Repeat Chorus:

Bridge:

Though I'm just a mortal man,

I'm not just your common fan,

When we're truly friends, then you'll understand,

Please darlin, please darlin let me in, let me in,

Repeat Chorus:

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

A light hearted recap of my encounters with Playboy Playmate/actress/model/comic book
character/registered nurse/goddess, Susie "Flaxen" Owens. That's why the Olivia painting
of Susie entitled Dark Angel appears in the CD booklet. I wanted the world to know that my
blatant Raspberries inspired tune had nothing to do with the US television show of the same
name. Susie, I hope you like this song as much as I do, you're one hell of a muse!

SIXTEEN FOREVER

Lyrics by Anthony Castillo, Castle Noir Music BMI and

Francois Perez, Francois Songs BMI ©

Chorus:

Sixteen forever, living in a world that's all my own,

Sixteen forever, how they live well I don't want to know,

Sixteen forever, never gonna change,

Verse One:

Every time I'm told to grow up, grow up, fall in line and conform,

I hear a voice say inside of my head, that's not why you were born,

Pre Chorus:

What ever it is, what ever I've got, I'm holding on to something you've lost,

Repeat Chorus:

Verse Two:

What's it really mean to grow up, grow up, some one tell me please,

If it means you just repeat what they've done, that would be obsene,

Pre Chorus:

When you look at me, well who do you see,

Is it just me, or someone you used to be?

Repeat Chorus:

Repeat Chorus and vamp out on chorus:

-------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY:

This song is our magnum opus, to be sure. Francois's music and title proved to be a mini manifesto
for the rock'n'roll life style. All I had to do was fill in the blanks. For such a grand, majestic piece of
music there's really not much more to say about it other than, rock'n'roll really can keep you feeling
young if you really live it and embrace it. To accept it or ignore it, the choice is yours.
